Weekly follow-up for your weight, one change per week

Alone, by the usual plan, or with a guide who reads your week

The number on the scale. The jeans moved to the back of the drawer. The afternoon your energy drops and your mood follows it down. If you have tried to sort this out before, you probably did it one of two ways. Below, both are set beside Lagom's weekly follow-up, row by row, so you can see exactly where they differ.

Underneath the rows is the same wish for most women who land here: to like what the mirror shows, to stand in the group photo instead of taking it, and to get through a weekday without the 4pm slump setting the mood.

A Wednesday that goes off course

Work runs late. The walk doesn't happen. Dinner is toast at nine, eaten standing up. Here is what each approach does with that day.

On your own

You decide the week is ruined, skip Thursday too, and promise yourself a fresh start on Monday.

A usual plan

The plan doesn't know Wednesday happened. Thursday asks for exactly what it asked for before.

With Lagom

You tap "off-plan day" and add a line if you like. On Sunday your guide reads it. If late Wednesdays keep coming, the walk moves to a day that is usually free.

The just-enough cycle

Lagom is a Swedish word for "the right amount, not more". The method takes the name literally: a small, fitting change, looked at every week, then retuned.

  1. A fine single-weight line drawing of a paper wall calendar with a few scattered days softly filled in flat sage green an

    Step 1

Describe the week you actually have

Your work hours, who you cook for, which days run long, how you get on with the scale. Not an ideal week. The real one.

  2. A fine single-weight line drawing of three nested ceramic bowls of different sizes, the middle one filled in flat olive

    Step 2

Size one change to fit it

Your guide picks a single change small enough to sit beside everything else: a packed lunch on two days, a short walk where there is room for one.

  3. A fine single-weight line drawing of a folded letter resting half out of an open envelope, with flat sand and pale olive

    Step 3

Log in a few taps, look back on Sunday

During the week: meals as planned or off-plan, movement, energy, mood. On Sunday: three short questions about how it went.

  4. A fine single-weight line drawing of a pencil redrawing a gentle curved path on a folded paper map, with flat olive gree

    Step 4

Retune, then start the next round

Your guide's note says what stays, what moves and what is dropped. Then the cycle begins again with the new week.

Step 4 feeds straight back into step 2. There is no final step and no graduation.

Why the cycle is shaped like this

  • A plan written once cannot know about a sick child, a work trip or a hard week. A weekly review gives it a regular chance to hear about them.
  • One change at a time means you can tell which change fit and which didn't, instead of guessing across ten.
  • Energy and mood sit in the log next to food and movement, because flat afternoons and low moods are part of why you are here.
  • The scale is optional. For many women it is the hardest number in the house, and the plan can run without it.
  • Off-plan days are logged, not scored, so the record you and your guide look at stays honest.

A sample Sunday exchange, in full

This is the format every review follows. The details below are an example, written the way your guide writes.

Week 3, three questions

Your guide

Which planned item fit the week best?

The Saturday walk. Tuesday got eaten by a meeting.

Which day was hardest, and why?

Wednesday. Skipped lunch, then the afternoon dragged and I was snappy by five.

Anything you'd rather not do again?

Weighing in. I'd like to leave it off for now.

Your guide is part of the app. It replies in plain language and rewrites your plan; it is not a doctor or dietitian.

Sixty days to decide

Use the weekly follow-up for up to 60 days from the day you pay. If it turns out not to be for you, write in before the last day and the whole charge comes back to you. You don't need to explain why.

That is roughly eight Sunday reviews, enough rounds of the cycle to judge whether the format suits you.

Three terms, priced by the day

Your quiz result came with code MYRESULT50, so every first period below is half price.

Intro prices shown for another 10:00

Up to 60 days to ask for a full refund, no reason needed.

Selecting a row charges its intro amount once: $3.99 for Monthly, $27.99 for Yearly or $47.99 for Two years. When that first period ends, the plan rolls on at its regular rate of $7.99 a month, $55.99 a year or $95.99 every two years, and carries on automatically until you stop it. Stopping takes effect at the end of the paid period; you can do it from the account screen in the app or by contacting us — [email protected]

Questions worth asking before you pay

Who is the guide?

The guide is part of the Lagom app. It reads what you log and what you answer on Sunday, replies in plain, personal language and rewrites next week's plan. It holds no medical or dietetic credentials and gives no medical advice; for anything about your health, ask your doctor.

What if you miss a Sunday?

Move the review to any other day from the plan screen, or skip it. Your current plan simply carries over until the next review you answer. Nothing is reset.

How do you cancel?

Open the account screen in the app and turn off renewal, or send an email to the address under the plans. You keep access until the end of the period already paid. Within 60 days of paying, you can also ask for the full amount back.
